Anna's Hummingbirds (Calypte anna) live in the Western United States and Mexico, and are a common sighting at Wind Wolves Preserve and many of our backyards! This male has a rosy color on his head to attract females (this video was taken during their breeding season in the spring), and is very territorial. He remains in his territory almost constantly to prevent the invasion of outsiders, and uses this space for resting, breeding, and often feeding. We often see these birds buzz by when walking
